Body Brushing

We’re pros at keeping our faces fresh and glowing, but can we say the same about our body care? The at home ritual we love to keep our skin smooth and body energised is dry body brushing.

What is Body Brushing?

One of the most popular ancient beauty rituals is dry body brushing. This traditional Ayurvedic practice is a massaging technique carried out on dry skin, which helps boost lymphatic flow and circulation, revealing smooth skin through exfoliation. A ritual we think deserves a place in your daily routine to help you feel and look your best, especially as we enter summer!

The Benefits

  • It exfoliates dry skin revealing smooth glowing skin.
  • It stimulates the lymphatic system to detox the body from any toxins built up, which results in the body and mind feeling re-energised and rejuvenation.
  • It increases blood flow and circulation which invigorates and refreshes the skin.

How to Dry Brush

Build dry brushing into your morning and/or evening routine each day before your shower for around 3-5 minutes. Ensure you’re not pressing too hard or using a very stiff brush – hard exfoliation isn’t the point!

  1. Start at the feet sweeping upwards towards the heart.
  2. Moving onto the arms, starting at the wrists and working upwards using small firm strokes.
  3. Finally, the stomach sweeping in a clockwise motion.

Post Dry Brushing

Jump in the shower to wash away any excess dead skin. Pat dry your skin and moisturise to rehydrate the skin.

Tip! It’s best to moisturise when the skin is still a little damp which allows the skin to easily absorb the product.

Don’t forget to rinse your brush and leave aside to dry for the next day…
