Gua Sha
We love using beauty tool inbetween our TAC appointments to prolong and maintain the benefits you achieve in the clinic! A tool we love to de-puff and contour the face is the Gua Sha. Like many at-home tools, consistency is key and the more you commit to this ritual, the better the results! Whether you’ve got this technique down to a tee or need a little guidance – here’s everything you need to know about the rejuvenating Gua Sha facial.
Gua Sha involves scraping the skin with a smooth-edged instrument (often jade, rose quartz, and other polished stones) to release muscle tension, improve circulation, and promote the body’s natural healing process. The term ‘Gua Sha’ translates to ‘scraping sha’ where ‘sha’ refers to the reddish or purple-red petechiae (tiny, raised, red spots) that appear on the skin’s surface because of the technique.
The Benefits
– It helps reduce puffiness, especially in the under-eye area.
– It helps to aid lymphatic drainage as you take time to work on the different areas of your face.
– Adjusting the pressure you apply can help to reduce tension and pain.
– With improved circulation comes a brighter complexion as toxins are moved and cleared from the body.
